About The Organisation: The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is an autonomous organisation under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. It was established on 16 July 1929 as a registered society and has its headquarters at New Delhi. The Council is the apex body for co-ordinating, guiding and managing research and education in agriculture including horticulture, fisheries and animal sciences in the entire country. With 97 ICAR institutes and 47 agricultural universities spread across the country this is one of the largest national agricultural systems in the world. The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) was established on 1 November 1973 as an independent recruitment agency.

The organisation is conducting a competitive exam for the recruitment of Administrative Officer and Finance & Accounts Officer(F&AO). The eligibility Criteria and various details are mentioned below: 

Name of Post: Administrative Officer (AO)

Total number of Vacancies: 19 (UR-8/SC-1/ST-1/OBC-8/PD-1)

Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree holder from a recognised University with at least 55% marks in the final degree examination. The candidate should have working knowledge of computers.

Age Limit: 21-30 years (as on 1.1.2011). The Candidate should note that they should not be of the age of 30 on 1.1.2011. They can be of 21 years though on this date.Relaxations applicable.

Pay Scale: PB3 Rs 15600-Rs 39100 + GP of Rs 5400

Name of Post: Finance & Accounts Officer (F&AO)

Total number of Vacancies: 8 (UR-5/ST-1/OBC-1/PD-1)

Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree holder from a recognised University with at least 55% marks in the final degree examination. The candidate should have working knowledge of computers.

Desirable Qualification: The candidates having specialisation in Finance/ Accounting/ Commerce at PG level or qualification such as CA/ICWA/CS.

Age Limit: 21-30 years (as on 1.1.2011). The Candidate should note that they should not be of the age of 30 on 1.1.2011. They can be of 21 years though on this date.Relaxations applicable.

Pay Scale: PB3 Rs 15600-Rs 39100 + GP of Rs 5400

 Application Procedure:  

Application Fee:  Rs 500/- is to be paid by candidates (SC/ST/PH/Women candidates are free to apply) through a crossed bank draft only. The draft should be drawn in favour of “Secretary, A.S.R.B” and payable at New Delhi.

The candidates are advised to write their name and address of the back side of draft in the top corner.
