About the Institute: Central Power Research Institute is a premier National body under Ministry of Power, Government of India, and promoting applied research relevant to power sector applications. It has several laboratories and state-of-art facilities for evaluation of Electrical Materials and performance of Power Equipment. It also acts as the National Testing & Certification Authority and the apex body for initiating and coordinating Research and Development.

The JRF/SRF candidates will work full time at CPRI’s Center For Collaborative and Advanced Research (CCAR) on a research project/ theme for a period of 2 years which is extendable upto 6 months:

Post: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Age (on 19.11.2010): 30 years maximum.

Academics: Masters Degree in Science, with first class  in the relevant area of specialization, with consistently high level of academic record and aptitude for research.

Emoluments : Rs 15,000/- per month (fixed)

Post: Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

Age (on 19.11.2010): 30 years maximum.

Academics: 1^st Class ME/ MTECH in Engineering in the relevant area of specialization with consistently high level of academic record and aptitude for research

Emoluments : Rs 18,000/- per month (fixed)

Selection Basis: The candidates will be selected on the basis of marks scored in qualifying exam/ interview and past record.
